Beauty + Review: Indeed Labs Hydraluron (Moisturising) Skincare Range

I often complain about my dry skin here on the blog and in real life. If you know me personally, I bet you would be so tired of hearing it by now. However, it is my main skin problem (along with dark under-eye circles) so I do tend to fixate on it.

Whenever a product comes out that promises to provide my skin with more hydration and elasticity, I immediately want to try it and see whether it would work wonders. It’s a never ending cycle in my life to be honest.

During the past few months, a couple of beauty blogger friends have been telling me about Canadian brand Indeed Labs and their skin care range. I’ve heard so much about it from them so it was only a matter of time till I try it. And so I did. I took a break from the Guerisson Horse Oil Cream I’ve been using for approximately 3 weeks during late November up to early December and tried out Indeed Labs’ Hydraluron Skin Care Range.

Beauty + Video: MAC x Dita Von Teese Lipstick (First Impressions + Swatches)

When I first heard about this lipstick, I knew I had to have it! And since I’m traveling so much this month, I decided to just do a really quick video on it today to already get it out there. I know a lot of you lovelies are looking into buying it and since it’s an online exclusive and not available in stores, there’s no way of swatching it!

Don’t worry my loves. I got you. 😉 Here’s a really quick video on it! Also, please excuse all the gushing over Star Wars. We’re seeing the video tonight and I’m just too excited!

Love,

Carol

Beauty + Video: Huge Althea Haul + Christmas Promos

Christmas is just around the corner – and mine actually came early this year after I’ve accumulated quite a number of stuff from Althea in the weeks leading up to the holidays!

Also, for those that have been so curious over the W.Lab Shading and Highlighter sticks that I posted on Instagram and Facebook, I swatched them and gave my first impressions on this video! You’ll just have to watch it through the end though. 😉

Happy Holidays, my loves!

Hair care, styling, & colour brand Evo launches in Malaysia + Review on Day of Grace & Salty Dog

So this is a post long overdue. I have no excuse other than being a busy “diplowife” these past few weeks. My schedule is hardly manageable and my husband can attest to that. I shall write about what’s been happening lately in detail but before that, allow me to dedicate this post to  a hair care and colour brand that recently made its way to the Malaysian market.

Australia’s Evo has piqued my interest during their launch due to three things:

  1. Packaging

I have a thing for great packaging. While I tend to shy away from the cutesy (unless it’s a really good product) and prefer clean, classy, and smart ones.

I instantly fell in love with the clean white packaging, the witty product names, as well as the product descriptions that make you smile – not in a cheesy way. They are straight to the point but don’t fall short at all when it comes to humour.

They are also made from recycled materials so this brand gets another point for loving the environment. 😉

Hmm. “Twisted for life”? I think the curl range would suit me well.

Travel: The rest of our 2nd day in Paris (Pantheon + Champs Élysées + Ladurée

* So sorry for the short hiatus! I’ve been running around like a headless chicken these days as I’m so busy with some freelance work, family visits, and travels. If you ever miss me for not being on the blog, you can always find out what I’m up to on Instagram, Twitter, or Snapchat (carolific) though I do suck in making snaps on the go too. 🙂

We started Day 2 with a quick trip to the Pantheon which is located in the city’s Latin quarter.

Before entering, a photo of the husband outside the Universite de Paris’ Faculté de Droit (Law). Yep, I married a lawyer. A geeky one at that. 😉

Okay, back to the Pantheon. Originally built as a church for St. Genevieve, it was turned into mausoleum after the French Revolution and is now a place to bury remarkable French people.

Its crypt is the final resting place of writer/philosopher extraordinaire Voltaire, philosopher/writer/composer Jean-Jacques Rousseau, poet/dramatist/writer Victor Hugo, and chemist-physcist Marie Curie to name a few.

A lot of visitors to this place – particularly foreigners – often forget the nature of this building. Most visitors make so much noise, blowing the solemnity of the Pantheon into smithereens. That’s why I suggest to visit this place early in the morning. Less people – like parents laughing and shouting at their kids as they run after them across the vast hallways.

Behind the Pantheon is the St. Etienne du Mont that contains the shrine of St Genevieve – the patron saint of Paris.
